Post-Acute Care Certified Staff Educator
The Post-Acute Care Staff Educator course is designed to provide the core knowledge required to administer and provide instruction for the staff development program in the post-acute care setting. It includes an extensive review of the foundations of practice, the educational process, managing educational activities, role of the staff development professional.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Final Rule of Participation (RoP) requires facilities to develop staff trainings, incorporate those trainings into the facility annual training schedule, add into the training schedule new hires and have a system to document completed training. Having a certified staff educator as a member of your team will get you to compliance.

Target Audience
This program is intended for nurses who plan, coordinate, or provide staff development activities in the post- acute care setting including but not limited to directors of nurses (DON’S), staff development coordinators (SDC’S), unit managers or any RN with an interest in staff education and development.
Requirements for Certification
To obtain the certification and 10 CEUs the attendee must hold:
- An active and encumbered RN license within a state or territory of the United States of America.
- Complete the course.
- Annual renewal and re-certification fee to maintain certification is required.
Certification
After successful completion of the course, attendee will be allowed to use the designation of Post-Acute Care Certified Staff Educator (PAC-CSE).
